I must stop reading your poetry
So I can just move on
It grabs me like a stranger
Telling me to come along
Leaving little pieces of candy
To show me its okay
Putting sweetness in my mouth
That takes me far and far away

I'm sober now for two whole months
It's one accomplishment your absence helps me with
and one thing that was always different about us is how we chose to handle friends
And in my sick way I wanna thank you
For enduring your misplaced sense of independence
So I can feel better waging wars in myself knowing life is about acceptance

You always disregarded or misunderstood my warped ideas on things like self examination
You always reacted to my grief as if it was your fathers domination
So I've flown so fucking far away
And I'll never analyze your way
So do whatever it takes in your soul to conquer the days

There's a stalling in my life
With an anxious neediness for my friends
A heartfelt apology is all I want from you
